We develop all kinds of Risk Analysis, such as What if…?, HazOp, LOPA, BOWTIE, Quantitative Risk Analysis (ACR) according to the magnitude of your processes and the requirements of each business. Likewise, we help our clients to implement safe startups plans after maintenance or a prolonged shutdown through the Safe Pre-start methodology.

Disaster Risk Management Plans for public and private companies.

We have a highly trained team with expertise in the development of Disaster Risk Management Plans for public and private companies, so that their processes meet the requirements of the National Disaster Risk Management Unit and Decree 2157 of 2012, creating complete and comprehensive plans, but easily disseminated to the exposed population and government entities. Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) - Conventional

Non-destructive testing, or NDT, refers to a series of inspection methods, tools, and analytical techniques used in the science and technology industry to assess the properties of a material, system, or component without permanently altering it or causing any damage.

When it comes to testing the integrity and proper functioning of mining equipment, NDT is considered extremely useful. The reason for this is that NDT methods can be used to inspect the properties of a material without permanently altering the object or causing unnecessary damage.

NDT saves time and money for companies, becoming a practical technical practice for product evaluation, troubleshooting, and cost-effective research. They can also provide valuable data for conducting root cause analysis.

LION ENGINEERING GROUP can be your ally in implementing NDT in various industries: pipelines, gas pipelines, atmospheric tanks, pressure vessels, valves, fire protection networks, wellheads, conduits in power plants, storage tanks, rotors/turbines, boilers, piping, among others.

Non destructive essays

Visual inspection

Objective:

  • Obtain a first evaluation of the integrity of the asset in a simple way, to evaluate its condition and ensure that the equipment works correctly.
  • Visual inspection is carried out with basic instruments that include magnifying glasses, mirrors, and gauges, borescope (digital images), allowing to identify different characteristics of integrity including generalized corrosion, cracks associated with corrosion, erosion, misalignment, porosity in the weld.

Advantages:

  • Simple, economical and fast diagnosis
  • Understanding different degradation phenomena
  • Understanding different degradation phenomena
  • Reduced repair costs due to constant monitoring at each stage of manufacturing

Liquid Penetrants

Objective:

  • The penetrant testing method uses liquids with a specific viscosity and contact angle to discover discontinuities in corrosion tests or to verify the presence of material surface cracks, fractures, porosity, laps, and joint defects. These discontinuities can be caused by fatigue or processes such as grinding and quenching.

Advantages:

  • Simple, economical and efficient diagnosis
  • Can be applied to any solid, non-porous object, such as metals, ceramics, organic materials and composites
  • Penetrant testing is widely used to evaluate and detect surface discontinuities of components used in various industries.
Non destructive essays

Magnetic Particle Testing

Advantages:

  • Relatively low cost
  • Portability
  • Ease of inspection

Objective:

  • Magnetic particle testing detects surface and near-surface defects in ferromagnetic materials such as steel using magnetic fields. Magnetic particle testing requires the use of a fine, pigmented ferromagnetic powder that is attracted to the leakage field caused by a defect.
Non destructive essays

Ultrasonics

Objective:

  • Ultrasonic testing is a type of non-destructive testing method that works by sending ultrasonic waves through the object or material being inspected.
  • During ultrasonic testing, the inspector uses a probe or type of transducer to transmit sound waves that penetrate the material they want to test. If the material has no defects, sound waves will simply pass through it. However, if the sound waves encounter an imperfection or defect, they will bounce back, thus indicating the presence of a defect in the material.

Advantages:

  • Excellent penetration power that allows the UT to detect defects or imperfectionsubicados en el interior de un componente, parte o activo.
  • High level of sensitivity allowing accurate detection of even the smallest defects.
  • Ability to perform tests on an object even if only one side is accessible
